Cirencester Community Awards 2025
Welcome to The Cirencester Community Awards 2025
brought to you by Cirencester Radio and Cirencester Community Development Trust
The Cirencester Community Awards celebrates all the charities, organisations, community groups and individuals who do so much to support our fantastic town.
Anyone who is involved in the not-for-profit sector is invited to support the initiative which pays tribute to those who care about Cirencester and the people who live here.
If you are a member of a group, club or organisation, you are encouraged to apply for a Community Award by completing a simple form. There are three categories to choose from (details below) which can demonstrate your approach to running a special community project, teamwork or sustainability. There are also two special awards for individuals who, for example, might be a ‘good neighbour’, a volunteer ‘going the extra mile’ or someone raising funds for charity. So, if you recognise the description – or you know someone who does, please enter or nominate someone for the Young Community Entrepreneur or Cirencester Champion awards.
How to enter or nominate
The Cirencester Community Awards 2025 has five categories in total. You can enter your own or nominate another organisation or club for an award, choosing from three categories which demonstrate your organisation or club's approach to running a special community project, teamwork or sustainability. There are also two special awards, for a Young Community Entrepreneur or Cirencester Champion to say “thank you” to an individual who, for example, might be a ‘good neighbour’, a volunteer ‘going the extra mile’ or someone raising funds for charity.
Links to the application forms for these categories can be found below. Please complete the form for your chosen category and press the SUBMIT button. This will automatically enter you or your organisation or club for your selected award. Your email address will be stored and you will receive a copy of your submitted form for your records.

Young Community Entrepreneur
The Young Community Entrepreneur Award celebrates individuals aged 16-25 who can show they have the ability and commitment to go above and beyond what is expected. The award will be given to individuals or a group (within the age range of 16 – 25 years) who have contributed to their community, making a positive difference and providing an example to others.
Cirencester Champion
This award will focus on the person who never asks for a reward, and just ‘gets on with it’ whether helping neighbours or the wider community to participate in life more fully. This is an opportunity for the Cirencester community to say “thank you”.
Sustainability
This award celebrates those Groups, Clubs, Charities or Organisations making a positive and sustained impact through their activities. Entries are invited from those who are involved in initiatives that support the sustainability of their local community through services impacting on the environment, social fabric or economic wellbeing.
Team Award
This award recognises collaboration and teamwork. Entries are invited from teams of two or more, from Groups, Clubs, Charities or Organisations. The strength of the team, not necessarily its size, will have played an integral role in the overall successes and achievements. Entrants might have been involved in the day-to-day running of a project, on a specific campaign or event. Team effort and ethos, brainstorming capabilities, constructive division of responsibilities, working to the highest standards, going above and beyond the norm, adopting a creative and organised approach and adapting to an ever-changing environment, are just a few of your team’s attributes.
Special community project
This award recognises innovation and drive. Entries are invited from Groups, Clubs or Organisations which have set up and run a project to benefit the local community – for example, this might have been in response to a long-term need identified by the organisation or a campaign to resolve a perceived immediate issue. A successful project is usually defined by its aims, outcomes and effectiveness: this is your opportunity to tell us about what makes your project so special.
Introduction to The Cirencester Community Awards 2025
The Cirencester Community Awards 2025 builds on the first community awards, originally made in 2023 which brought together the vision of two organisations, Cirencester Radio and Cirencester Community Development Trust - both keen to celebrate the many individuals, charitable organisations, community groups and clubs who contribute so much to our local community.
Five awards have been designed for 2025 which demonstrate the breadth of community support: Team, Sustainability, Special Community Project, Cirencester Champion and Young Community Entrepreneur.
Carole Boydell, Curator of Creative Projects at Cirencester Radio said: “We are excited to work again with Cirencester Community Development Trust to pay tribute to those who are so involved in our local community of Cirencester. Please check out our website: CirencesterRadio.co.uk and spread the word!”
